Why they might NOT give you the job
Name the doubts, then take the sting out of them
Every candidate has something a panel could hesitate over. Naming it is how you take its power away.
Once you know the doubts, you can season your answers with the information that corrects them.
Common ones: not enough experience, seen as too young or too old, IT skills, not the exact qualification they listed.
Before you start
- Accept it, then build. Get the lowest point of the answer out of the way first, then climb.
- Use the best example you do have, from study, training or another sector.
- Show appetite: I look forward to building this skill.
- Show you know why it matters to them.
- Give an example of a gap you closed before.
